What’s a higgle?

Higgle is an innovative, STEAM-based digital platform built to help primary teachers effortlessly facilitate creative thinking lessons through process-led art. Higgle generates adaptable artistic prompts that integrate hands-on creative play directly with core academic subjects, turning standard desks into active spaces of discovery. Higgle helps to teach life long skills such as problem solving, brainstorming, collaboration through creative play.

Our Story

Every child is born with an active imagination, but traditional classrooms often lack the time, resources, or specialized tools to let that creativity run free. We started Higgle to change that. By designing an inclusive framework around real-world, off-screen making, using everyday resources like tinfoil and sponges, we ensure that every student, including those navigating neurodiversities like Dyslexia and ASD, can confidently problem-solve, collaborate, and thrive.

AbOUT THE FOUNDER

Howdy doodaly!

Hi, I’m Grace Brennan. My journey with Higgle began through my work as an art teacher delivering classroom workshops, where I saw firsthand that real learning happens when children articulate their own ideas and build on them through the physical process of making, rather than following rigid, cookie-cutter templates where everyone creates the exact same piece.

Because essential creative thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are currently lacking in the traditional system, I developed Higgle to bridge that gap. I grew the company as a High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) through Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers programme, launching as the first official spin-out company from IADT.

Today, I travel all over Ireland delivering hands-on school workshops and running Department of Education-approved EPV summer courses for teachers. My core mission is to increase access to the arts by creating neuro-friendly resources that build lifelong creative thinking skills through hands-on, off-screen play.

This framework is built to meet you exactly where you are, adapting effortlessly to your specific class group abilities, physical space, and the time you have available, regardless of the language needs in your classroom, limited material access, or whatever curriculum subjects your class is already studying that week.
